just like that　あっという間に


just like thatは直訳では「そのな風に」という意味になりますが、このフレーズが「あっという間に」という意味に変化します。Collins Cobuild英英辞典の定義を見てみましょう。

 
You use just like that to emphasize that something happens or is done immediately or in a very simple way, often without much thought or discussion. (INFORMAL)
 

immediately（急に）、simple way（かんたんに）に物事が起こってしまう様を指すようです。

 
使い方を見てみましょう
  • あっという間に、僕は恋に落ちた。(Just like that, I was in love…)
  • 彼にお金をあげると、さっさといなくなってしまった。(I gave him the money, and just like that, he disappeared.)
 

「just like that = あっという間」という意味がしっかりとのみ込めていなと使いづらいフレーズですが、どんどん使って慣れていきましょう
